Domestic violence is a tragic reality in our country. Every day, women and men are beaten, abused, and killed by the people they love the most. And too often, law enforcement officers are called to respond to these scenes of domestic violence.
Domestic violence is a complex issue, and there is no one easy solution. But we must start somewhere. We must begin by holding perpetrators of domestic violence accountable for their actions.
This month, Heal Thrive Dream, LLC is bringing awareness to the epidemic of domestic violence around the globe. Today, I interviewed my baby brother Jason Hanson who has served in the United States Air Force in Security Forces for 6 years as well as a police officer in the State of Florida for 18 years.
My brother and I share different political views and different parents (just kidding). However, we have more in common than not. We believe in the seriousness and the danger of domestic violence. Unfortunately, Jason shared two incidents of domestic violence or violence against women that resulted in the death of two nurses by their spouses. He shared hopeful stories too. Stories where children are safely removed from violence.

"We are pro arrest during domestic violence, 99% of the time, we will make that arrest."
